Candidates willing to take admission to B.Tech, BS and Dual Degree programmes must qualify for the JEE Advanced. To get admitted to the B.Arch course, students have to appear for the NATA exam. Most importantly, students must have passed the 10+2 school leaving examination from a recognized board. The final admission procedure is strictly based on merit.

Admission Procedure
Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur's admissions are conducted online. To apply for their undergraduate degrees, candidates must meet all the required eligibility requirements of the course for which the candidate is applying for. The candidate has to go through the online admission process in the website. Most importantly the candidates must get a valid Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advancedscore in order to be admitted to B.Tech, BS, and Dual Degree programs. For the B.Arch program, the candidate must qualify for the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) exam. While the admission criteria and eligibility differ from course to course, all students must have passed their 10+2 school leaving test from a recognized board of secondary education.
